Sullivan-Carlson Award
Description
The Engineering Excellence Fund committee presents the Sullivan-Carlson Innovation in Education Award as recognition of one professor each year who makes an extra effort to involve students in hands-on, engaged learning. This may take place through innovative lecture classes, extraordinary lab classes, or through research experiences such as independent study. Nominations are sought exclusively from students and the EEF student committee selects the final winner. We are currently asking students to nominate outstanding professors for the 2008-2009 award. You do not need to have taken a class this semester (or at all) with a professor to nominate him or her, but you should have personal experience with her or him. Please write a short (1 page at most) nomination about the professor you want to nominate including the following information:
- Name of professor
- Department
- Relationship/Interaction (ie, instructor, academic adviser, etc)
- Your name
- Your email address
- Employs hands-on learning in his or her teaching
- Actively engages students
- Has an impact beyond the classroom
